Diabetes is a fast-growing health problem in Egypt with a significant impact on morbidity, mortality, health care resources and the Egyptian economy. The International Diabetes Federation has identified Egypt as the ninth leading country in the world for the number of patients with T2D. Early identification and effective intervention are essential components for effective diabetes management. In this review, we highlight different advanced nanotechnological approaches that have been published recently for the diagnosis and management of diabetes. The traditional process for monitoring blood glucose level is invasive and highly uncomfortable for patients.
